LIVING AND DYING

We are not ready to live
‘Til we are ready to die!
And dying does terrify -
‘Til we live Jesus’ way!

No other way to win
But ask Jesus within,
And live for and with Him
Day by day!

The joy of the Lord
Will be your strength -
As you live any length -
Then, you will be ready to die!

Heavenward bound,
You owe Jesus all -
As he conquered the Fall,
And “brought you around”.

Hallelujah to the Lamb -
He taught you to live and to die!

LIFE WITHOUT GOD

Life without God
Simply does not work -
There is no real love, no hope,
No kindness, happiness, joys
For men, women, girls, and boys!

Just a dreary, gloomy life
Filled with mindless strife.

Atheism can be sad
With nothing much to make you glad,
But movies and games to entertain.

Live life with God and Jesus
They bring meaning to your work
And a purpose to living and giving!

FEAR

I’m not nearly as brave
As I thought I’d be.

Sometimes fear rises inside of me,
That awful feeling
That I try to hide.
This tide melts courage away -
Feels like it’s there to stay.
And only Jesus is near
To quell my fear.

Jesus is my only friend!
Down to the end
With me He will stay
And take that awful fear away!

I SHOULD GIVE LESSONS ON HOW TO DIE AT HOME

I should give lessons
On how to die at home.
So I’ll try to do
It in a poem.

My qualifications are rare
So let me now share:
I’m an 84 yr. old 3rd generation RN,
Like an old mother hen -
Clucking to her chix -
On what needs to be fixed,
If you want to die at home.

First of all pray a lot
To find honest Christian help,
When helpless you get.
Someone who will care -
And not use or abuse,
And your burdens to share.
Then trust Jesus and God all the way
Day by day.

SUFFERING

Suffering makes you
Better or bitter!
The choice is yours!

Suffering makes us perfect,
Ready to be with God
In that perfect place -
All because of His marvelous grace!

We come out
As pure gold -
A sight to behold -
Worthy of Jesus’
Sacrifice of old.

Now we are worthy
Of the great price
Jesus paid for
With HIS LIFE.

DEEP SEATED ANGER

Deep seated anger
Will ruin your life -
Fill it with strife,
And only God
Can control it!

So choose Jesus’ way
And stay on it night and day.
For the evil is strong -
And the battle is long -
And only with Jesus’ help
Can you win the day!

GOD’S VENUE FOR US

God’s venue for us,
Surprise, surprise! -
Is this fallen world
With all it’s lies!

But the devil is defeated -
We MUST realize -
So his lies cannot harm us
When marching bravely forward
Under the Holy Spirit’s watchful eyes!

That’s how the battle is won,
And it’s really fun -
As we follow Jesus’ Way -
Defeating the devil,
In this world’s tough venue
Doing it God’s Way!

PATHOLOGICALLY BUSY

Pathologically busy -
Think about that phrase -
All of its ramifications
Will put you in a daze!

It’s a daze of NO recovery -
As the Sabbath is lost -
And we lose ourselves too!
What a terrible cost!

Over busyness is the sickness
Of our modern times -
Destroying bodies and lives,
All at the same time.

No time for God -
Beware, it’s a terrible snare,
It rots out your soul -
And sends you straight to Sheol.

LOOK FOR THE GOOD

Look for the good -
And throw out the bad -
That’s all to be had
Of God’s goodness!

If asked every day,
Christ will show
You the way,
To look for His good
And throw out the bad.
Then turn it over to Him,
And refuse to be sad.

THE PSYCHIATRIC PILL

The psychiatric pill
Is here to stay
To cure every ill:
Bad, sad, or too glad!

God’s personality rejected,
Humanity perfected,
By glorious chemistry!

Confusion reigns -
Are you really you?
And am I
Really me?

God’s “sound mind” Scripture:
2Tim. 1:7 left out -
HIS healing power in doubt,
Exchanged for man’s
Experimental chemistry
Via that psychiatric pill,
Which will
Cure every ill.

But will we
Still be ourselves,
Or will we be
A walking, talking chemistry?

A SOLDIER’S PRAYER (Those born again in Jesus)

Here I am, O God -
Alone with you in this vastness,
Trying to serve and follow Thy will
And do my duty to God and Country.
How alone I am in this crowd of men of all kinds,
Steeling myself to do my work,
(Like soldiers of old) -
Bearing still within the
Glorious image You gave mankind,
(This crown of His Creation) -
To fight for right - no matter how gloomy
The place or condition.
To cry out for strength and courage,
To learn to help and love my comrades.
This is the cry of my heart
And my prayer.

TOUGH OLD WORLD

This tough old fallen world
Really does stink -
I’d be out of here in a wink
If it wasn’t for the Lord Jesus Christ.

He and God are “All in All” -
Overcoming the Fall!

So because of THEM,
I carry on -
Looking for life’s good
And throwing out the bad.
It’s the only way to defeat the sad.

Focus on the joy of salvation,
Which will bring on sublimation
And even elation!

Let the Great Trinity reign,
And all will be gain -
Defeating suffering and pain.

Walk on with God and Jesus
‘Til death comes along,
And you’ll sing the song of Heaven!
