THANK YOU FOR THE NIGHT OF REST

“Thank you for the night of rest,”
My dear lovely Mother would say
As she rose to face another day.

In her sweet little voice
I can still hear her say:
“Thank you, God, for this food
And the night of rest.”

As an aging old nurse -
She could surely see
What a blessing a night of rest
Could be.

So she thanked her God
For the rest He had given.
